Graduated in 1973 from the Military Institute of Foreign Languages with a degree in translation and interpreting in German and Hungarian.

In 1987, he successfully defended his thesis on The Press of Revanchist and Militaristic Unions of Germany at the faculty of journalism of Lomonosov Moscow State University with a specialty in philological sciences

Received a diploma from the Ministry of Education of The Russian Federation for supervision of student research, awarded the medal of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation for the results of the 2003 open competition for the best work of students in natural, technical and humanitarian sciences in higher education of the Russian Federation.

Awarded the Medal of Labor Valor by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (2004).
Awarded the badge of “Best Instructor of the Military University” (2008).
Awarded the badge "Honorary worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation" (2010).
