Graduated in 1982 with honors from Pyatigorsky State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages with a degree in English and French Teaching.

Candidate of Philology since 1992, specialty 10.02.04 - "German".  Topic of candidate thesis: Structural-nominative and Term-forming Characteristics of Complex Names of Artifacts (based on the technical vocabulary of modern English).  Thesis defended at Moscow State Pedagogical University.

Doctor of Philology since 2000, specialty 10.02.04 - Germanic languages. Topic of doctoral thesis: Structurally Complex Substantive Phrases: The Cognitive-discursive Aspect (based on the technical literature of modern English). Thesis defended at the Philological Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Lecture courses: “Fundamentals of Linguistics” (for bachelor students), “Fundamental Theories of the English Language” (bachelor and specialist degree students), “Language and Cross-cultural Communication” (bachelor and specialist degree students), “Linguistics and Linguistic Theories”(master students), “Linguistic Studies History and Methodology” (postgraduate students).

Practical sessions: “Tutorial on the Culture of Oral Communication” Special Seminar - “The Development of the Conceptual System an English-language Model of the World”

Research Interests: The history and methodology of linguistics, methods of linguistic analysis, cognitive linguistics, English language lexicology, history, and etymology, semantic aspects of language acquisition, terminology, knowledge structures across various types of discourse.

Awarded the Eugen Wüster medal (Austrian Commission for UNESCO, Vienna, May 2007) for achievements in the development of terminology, and for valuable contributions in the field of cognitive and communicative terminology;
